AliveCor is leading the creation of FDA-approved medical devices that enable proactive mobile heart care. Their staple product, Kardia, is a mobile phone-connected 2-lead EKG used to capture heart activity data during everyday activities.
Mindtribe was tasked with taking the initial EKG prototype and revising the design for medical-grade mass production.
The project entailed the redesign of a complex and durable medical device. Mindtribe took responsibility for the development of an electrical system built for an extremely thin mechanical housing. Mindtribe also redesigned the initial prototype’s housing and debugged connectivity issues that caused variability in EKG signals. Lastly, the team created an additional miniaturized prototype that was used to demo to potential investors and Fortune 500 companies.
AliveCor is actively shipping FDA-approved medical EKG devices that save lives and improve mobile heart healthcare.
