Senior Electrical Engineer
Hi there, I’m Brian and I’m a senior electrical engineer here at Mindtribe. I want to tell you about what we do, why I like working here, and why you should join our team.
Mindtribe is a product development consultancy. We’re a team of hardware electronics, embedded software, and mechanical engineers that work seamlessly at every step of the product lifecycle to build our clients’ visions in the physical world. On any given day, we’re supporting a fledgling project by providing the technical insights needed to intricately carve a product requirements document, a sophomore project in the middle of tight iteration prototyping to validate the business case, and a more mature project in mass production that needs first article validation and test fixture support on the floor. It’s ok if the plans change, the target date moves, or there’s one more feature to squeeze in; the process we’ve been developing for 20 years plans for new discoveries along the way so that we still get from point A to point B efficiently.
Our team of electrical engineers is divided among these projects, but we work together to ensure high technical quality across every project. As a senior electrical engineer, you’ll be expected to get your hands dirty on client projects by architecting electrical systems with multiple microcontrollers, capturing schematics and designing multi-layer rigid-flex PCBs, validating your designs with test plans, and readying your design for manufacturing when the time comes.
We’re also looking for someone who embraces multiple forms of leadership. On our electrical engineering team, you’ll conduct and lead Technical Reviews to provide helpful perspective and measure the technical health across other client projects. More junior engineers will also look to you for guidance when routing a stripline antenna feed on a space-constrained board. On the broader Mindtribe team, you’ll add technical perspective and leadership in early conversations with prospective clients, assessing how our process would best adapt to their vision to get to the right product, faster.
There are three aspects of working at Mindtribe that I love the most. I’ve been building things my whole life, and I get to come to Mindtribe every day and build cool things for cool people. And, while some projects are more demanding than others, I get to go home and do the other things I also love like surfing before work or cycling in the hills. But most importantly, everyone at Mindtribe shares these interests: we all love what we do, and we love sharing what we do with each other. Some of us play in a volleyball or bowling league, some of us go to A’s and Giants games, and some of us go out to try the newest restaurants.
If this sounds like you, please apply.
